Paris holds a very special place in my heart; the scenery, people and of course the food. Now we all know that a trip to Paris can be expensive. The cost of food on top of the cost of tickets to Paris can add up very quickly. But your travels wouldn’t be complete without trying its world-renowned French cuisine. If your budget can’t afford those Michelin Star restaurants for every meal, save the big cheques for dinnertime and do lunch someplace cheaper. You don’t have to sacrifice taste, either. Here are the top 10 places to have lunch in Paris on a budget:

1) Bistrot Victoires

This bistro offers some cheap and wonderful dishes with a great nice atmosphere to boot. You can eat your steak-frites or roasted chicken while admiring the bistro’s classic wood panelling and brass trim. Main courses range from 9€-11€.

2) Le Bambou

Serving authentic Vietnamese food in a convivial atmosphere, Le Bambou is the perfect place to stop in for a bowl of soup or some grilled marinated pork wrapped in lettuce. Main courses sit around 10€, with a prix fixe menu for about 15€.

3) Le Cantine Merci

Since it opened its doors in 2009, Le Cantine Merci has become one of the most popular slow food restaurants in Paris. There, you’ll find soups, salads, and risottos galore, as well as freshly squeezed juices and teas. Main courses range from 8€-18€.

4) Chez Gladines

Located in the Butte aux Cailles quarter, Chez Gladines is known for its generous and reasonably priced portions. If you’re looking for a quick meal you can eat on the way to your next Paris attraction, head to L’As du Felafel. The cheap falafels (about 4€) are stuffed with fried chickpea, red cabbage, salted cucumber, eggplant, and warm harissa. Portions are definitely generous for the low price, too.
