Oh, The New Toys For 2017! – Can I Be A Kid Again?
New Toys for 2017 That Will Inspire Imaginations for Hours of Fun
Following up on my article about travel toys from the 2017 Toy Fair, it’s time to focus on many new toys that are just coming into the marketplace and are out there waiting for parents to discover for their children. There were so many, but here is a great list of ones that caught my attention and that I would highly recommend.
LuxBlox: These are incredible building toys that are made in the USA. They are created to support free expression. The founders want the child to be the designer. My son was able to sample these and he loved that he used his imagination. I would highly recommend these, you can always use found objects around the house to add more to the building experience.
Brackitz: I can’t say enough about these. My son plays with these everyday. They are building toys, they can connect anywhere, you can build almost anything and they offer open-ended play. They have add-on kits to create cars, there are inventor and creator kits as well. Everyone of them works together. I have even purchased them as gifts because I think that they are really well made and hours of fun.
Boneyard Pets: These are 3-D dinosaur building kits in well made materials with a variety of colors and sizes. They are looking to challenge children by creating new and exciting toys that are built in the US. These are really incredible.
Plus Plus: Described as one shape with endless possibilities. These are very cool building toys. This is another toy with free opened-ended play. They are great for travel also because they don’t take up much room.
Incredi-builds: These are build it yourself kits. They are models, but the great thing about them are you can paint them, which allows for free expression. There is no glue needed, just your excitement to build.
Clip-it: These are so cool. They are clips that you use your own collection of bottle caps and found objects to create whatever your child likes. They also will connect to Legos. We were able to sample these, my son loved them and they really are great for the environment and teach our kids about recycling. I think they are a must have.
Natural Earth Paint: We were lucky enough to try two of their best-selling products, Natural Egg Dye Kit and the Wooden Eggs Craft Kit. My 5-year old really loved them. They are very affordable $8.95 for the Dye Kit and $15.95 for the Wooden Egg Craft Kit. Their products are eco-friendly, organic and are made from natural clays and earth pigments, so completely safe for children. The paint comes in a powder that you mix with water, it is very smooth and paints really nicely.
The Natural Earth Paint is made in the USA and you can find them on Amazon. They have amazing products and the egg craft kit is great for Easter decoration. You can’t go wrong with any of these toys. I love that most of them focus on the opened-ended play. As parents, we want our kids to use their imagination and these toys foster that.
