Need something special to experience for your loved ones? Schreiner’s Iris Gardens is an ideal location. Every age group will find something to like here.  This is a beautiful garden, filled with a wide variety of flowering plants to enjoy.

Schreiner’s Iris Gardens has world-class Iris with tall Bearded Iris, Dwarf Iris, and a variety of cheap Iris collections are all available as well.  Aside from the iris, there are peonies, huge poppies, beautiful flowering trees, etc.  You can stroll through the fields and then enjoy a cold drink while sitting in the breathtaking garden with your spouse.

You can also stop and shop for bulbs or ride down the road and buy fresh-cut flowers in season.

2. Elsinore Theatre

Perhaps you want to visit a historic treasure in Salem, the Elsinore theatre is one such attraction.  This is a hidden gem amidst the hustle and bustle of downtown Salem, Oregon.  The Elsinore Salem is a beautiful theater built in the 1920s. Many of the art deco theaters have been demolished or lost around the country, but the Elsinore prevails as not just a local gem, but also a state and national treasure.  In fact, it is one of Salem’s favorite gathering spots.

By virtue of its size and seating arrangement, you feel you are enjoying a personal concert.  There are great restaurants nearby that feed you great food and get you out quick, so you make your show.  Enjoy a night as a couple by taking in all the culture and beauty that’s literally coming out of the walls.

3. The Hallie Ford Museum of Art

Another interesting thing to do in Salem is to visit the Hallie Ford Museum of Art.  This museum in Salem is a perfect place for couples enjoy the world of art.  The Hallie Ford Museum of Art is the museum of Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, United States and is Oregon’s third-largest.

Willamette University created this outstanding museum of art in 1998 with the help and assistance of Hallie Ford and the Ford Family Foundation.  You will find collections of various artworks donated to the museum throughout the museum.  In addition, there are exhibits of native American baskets from the early 1900s and other pieces by Oregon artists are among the works on display.  The Mark Sponenburgh Collection, encompasses around 250 Asian and European artworks, is also on display.

This place is a true treasure in the City of Salem!  In short, they have amazing exhibitions, from an original Van Gogh to Medieval Islamic coins! Great for a date! We recommend this place.

4. Bush’s Pasture Park, Salem

Taking a stroll through nature might be all you need to create that perfect bonding atmosphere in Salem.  Bush’s Pasture Park is a lovely 90.5-acre park in downtown Salem with walking/running routes, woodland sections, and open meadows.  This park has everything. Trails that wind through lush vegetation, through the woods, alongside a brook, and past a bustling sports complex. Oregon’s oldest greenhouse, a Victorian mansion that is open for tours, and a rose garden are also available here.

People jog, walk, run, sit on benches, have picnics, take family photos, and attend weddings in the rose garden’s   gazebo.  Furthermore, you could even hike in the woods, and play tennis on the courts with your spouse.  Best part? You could even walk your dogs here.

5. Honeywood Winery, Salem

If you like your wine on the sweet side, this place is for you.

There are many fresh fruit flavors and the wine prices are reasonable.  Honeywood Winery is the oldest winery in Oregon, and it’s located in Salem.  It is also home to Oregon’s first tasting room, which opened the day after prohibition ended in 1933, as well as many historic fruit wines.  In addition, Honeywood specializes in producing outstanding wines for all palates, including Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Marionberry, and Pear!  The very cute gift shop with unique wine items is a treat.

This is a worthwhile destination for everyone who enjoys wonderful wine, friendly people, and fascinating history.

6. Adelman Peony Gardens

Alderman peonies farm is surely a great spot in Salem for flowers, garden lovers, or even couples that just want to stroll around to check out their beautiful peonies.

You can tell there is a lot of love and care this family put into their farm.  The Adelman Peony Gardens are designed to resemble Schreiner’s Iris Gardens in size.  Iris and other flowers are mingled up with the peonies. It is significantly less busy and offers a much more relaxing experience. You can also take a seat and feel as if you had the entire space to yourself.  There are also well-kept gardens with a variety of flowers and seating spots besides the display garden beds.

Inside the barn, there’s also display of every peony Adelman’s sells.  You can even purchase a beautiful bouquet along. You don’t want to miss this place in Salem.

7. Cristom Vineyards

The Cristom Vineyards is a winery and vineyard in Salem, Oregon, United States.  It is located in the Eola-Amity Hills wine region within the Willamette Valley.

The Cristom Experience begins with a wine tasting flight, followed by a break for a walking excursion of the vineyards and an explanation of their biodynamic farming processes, before returning for a second tasting flight.  The wine is spectacular, and the vineyard and tasting room can’t be matched.  Furthermore, you will get a very warm welcome we got from the whole team.  Talking of the wine quality too, they are among the really good ones.

The charming tasting house, patio, and beautiful views will make the entire experience truly awesome. The pricing is also good.  Sipping some fantastic pinot noir while sitting outside soaking in the sun and enjoying an expansive view of the Willamette Valley could not be better.  This is a great place to have a great time as a couple, taste some wine, and have a walk in the vineyard.

8. The Pentacle Theatre in the Woods

If you want a secluded, wooded, peaceful retreats from the busy city where you can enjoy good drama in Salem, this is the right place

The Pentacle Theatre puts on a fantastic performance!  This theatre in the woods outside of West Salem is well worth a visit. Despite the fact that it is a community theatre, it is of high quality.

Even though the space is small, the seats are all good seats and it adds a level of intimacy to the production.  Actors are recruited from the neighboring towns, and the scenery and costumes add a lot to the overall experience.  The musicals are also especially fun to see.  Drinks and snacks are also very affordable, and the staffs are nice.  Prices of tickets are reasonable and you may purchase tickets online, at the performance, or at the Pentacle office downtown in Salem.

This place is a nice treat for your spouse as it lets you take a break from the city’s hustle and bustle.
