Hitting The Surf at Five Fantastic North Sydney Beaches
Palm Beach, New South Wales is just over an hour’s drive from the city. It is a great beach for adults and kids. As with most of the northern beaches, natural rock pools form the perfect spot for swimming. The golden sandy beach stretches for two kilometers from Barrenjoy Bay to Little Head at the end of a long Peninsula. The home of plenty of wealthy Aussie’s, it is also the setting for the fictitious Summer Bay of the Home and Away TV series.
To really get away from it all, hire a car for a day trip to Whale Beach. Quieter than most, this beach has lovely scenery, a park, outdoor showers and a cafe with wonderful food. Relax and watch the whales playing in the sunset. If you just can’t seem to leave right away, not to worry. A couple of good bed and breakfast inns run by friendly locals will have a spot for you.
Manly Beach’s personality is characterised by coves, inlets and Norfolk Island pines. Plenty of great shopping and dining provide the perfect backdrop for a gorgeous beach. Green grass and great waves give Newport Beach its unique personality. It is one of Sydney’s loveliest northern beaches, and the drive to get there is just as beautiful. Pack a picnic for lunching by the sea. Play in the surf all day and then have dinner in one of the cafes or restaurants along the strip.
Curl Curl is one of the best surfing beaches in the world. Rough ways are the personality of Curl Curl Beach. The avid surfer will be very happy with a visit to this beach. Surfing makes a great spectator sport at this beach if the water is a bit rough for your liking. Enjoy calmer waters in a rock pool at the south end near the surf club or at Dee Why Head at the opposite end.It is hard to choose just one Sydney North Beach to visit. After visiting one, you will want to check out the personality of all the other unique north beaches.
